Midwestern Braille Volunteers is a not-for-profit organization which provides
brailing services to Individuals, Schools, Churches, and Businesses.
School Services
Our main function is transcribing text books for blind students. If you have a text
book which you need brailled, just contact us, we
only charge 40 cents a page for brailing, plus $3.75 per volume
for binding, and shipping.
We also assist schools in becoming compliant with federal regulation, to ensure
they are providing the necessary environment for the visually impaired.
Services for Individuals
We also braille fiction and non-fiction books. Soon you will be able to search
through a listing of our brailled books on-line!
If you have a special need, such as cards, letters, wills, etc. please contact us, we
can help. Our individual rate is only 20 cents for personal use, plus $3.75
per volume for binding, and shipping.
Services for Schools, Churches and Businesses
We can braille a wide variety of material for businesses: restaurant menus, recipe books,
instruction manuals, minutes of meetings, copies of wills, etc.
We can also accept information on 3.5 inch diskette, in ASCII
text.
For businesses there is a $55 setup fee plus 60 cents per page,
plus $3.75 for volume binding and shipping.
Churches and non-profit organizations: there is a charge of 40 cents per
page,
plus $3.75 per volume for binding, and shipping. There is no set-up fee.
New Transcription
We charge $1.00 to $3.50 for new transcription and $3.50 to $10.00 for
tactile graphic work. Please call for quote.
Products
Alphabet & Numbers Labeling Sheet- An aid for learning and labeling, the cells can be easily cut from these sheets
and assembled into words to make labels or signs. The cost is $2.00
per sheet.
Sheet 001 Big braille alphabet and numbers 1 though 0.
Sheet 002 Organizes alphabet and basic cell signs, with visual identity of grade II braille meaning.
Sheet 003 Supplies typographic quantities for assembling words on signs and labels.
